Full Circle, and then...

So after almost 2 years of trying different churches here "in the country", about a month ago we decided we would go back to the church we went to when we were dating & engaged. The minister there is also the one who married us. We always thought it was too far to drive, but lately we've felt like it was worth the drive. We have not joined yet, but we feel certain this is our church home now. After all that, we came full circle.
We were there yesterday morning and it was a great service. The minister's message was powerful and the whole time I was thinking, yea, it's definitely worth the drive. Then the service ended and he got up and when he saw that the broadcasting light was off he said he wanted to speak just to the church family. He read a letter stating that he was accepting the position as President of Reformed Theological Seminary.
I was so sad. We are going to continue to go there, and feel confident they will find a good replacement, but we are disappointed.

Man, that stinks. I mean, it's not surprising because he seemed like a great pastor and teacher, but it still stinks for you guys.

Praying that another great teacher fills the gap he leaves.

All I can say is there is big shoes to fill--not done easily but God has the right man ready for them...He was quite an author!!

i'm glad you found a place to call home. i understand that the distance is a pain, but it's worth it. that's how we felt when we lived so far away. of course i love living three minutes away now.
