A good week

I've not been on here much this week so I thought I'd check in.
We've had a good week. We haven't had to mow our "yard" in about a month and I like the break. :)
I'm going to get something tomorrow to take care of our infestation of Japanese Beetles. They are eating everything!!
My poor roses are going to die soon if I let the beetles keep eating them.

Work has been busy and interesting. I have lots of new challenges, but with lots of new perks. I am going to get tired quickly of working 2 jobs which I have to do for another 4 weeks... crazy!

I don't have much to say.... I hope to have something more interesting to write about soon!

So Sad

My best friend called me yesterday - her brother and his wife lost their baby. She was about 24 weeks along and the baby just died. They were inducing labor today and she's having to deliver a baby she knows is dead. They lost another baby very early on so this is actually the second baby they've lost and are wanting to find out what's going on.

Please pray for this family. They have a family wedding next Saturday, and looks like a funeral Monday or Tuesday.

For those who know this is Scott & Dawn up in Wisconsin.

Update

I think most of you know, but I thought I'd put it all in writing.

10 days after I interviewed for the position that's an hour and a half from me, I finally heard from them. I was surprised because I left expecting an offer in a few days. I started to have doubts about both the drive and whether they found someone who was better.
Anyway, they decided to offer it to someone else because they were concerned about the drive. I think they were concerned after 3 months I would want to quit because the drive was too much. I was disappointed. Not so much in that I didn't get the job, but that I didn't get the offer and the opportunity to decide myself if it was worth the drive or not. Especially since they pursued me for it. By the next day though, I was relived and happy. I had prayed specifically that Got would make things clear to me, and that He did.
I contacted the woman who was hiring for the other position to let her know that the other position fell through and she wanted a formal interview with me Monday - of this last week. So we met Monday for a while and talked quite a bit about how I would be a good fit, but how I would have a lot to learn. It's a different division than which I work so I wasn't very familiar with that side at all. Since I first heard about the job I discovered it had become the "hot job". A lot of people around there were applying for it, and a number of them I was surprised applied. These were people who already had positions quite a bit higher than mine, and it seemed strange that we were all applying for the same job. Anyway, we had a good meeting and she said she would make a decision by Wednesday and make an offer by early next week.
I didn't hear from her Wednesday and I new Thursday & Friday she was on a business trip and I was going to be on a business trip Monday & Tuesday of next week, so I was starting to think I wouldn't know until I got back. Well Thursday I got a call from her and she offered the job to me. It's pretty significant raise and I think I will really enjoy the job. It's going to be challenging and a lot of work, but I think it's a good change.
3 other friends of mine got new jobs this week as well so it's been a big week for jobs!

On another note, I leave at 4:30 tomorrow morning for Chicago, for a 3 day business trip to NeoCon. It will be a nice ending to my job, and a time to relax a little after the last month of craziness.

Another little one

Please pray for a friend's friend. She lost her 3 month old baby this week from a rare lung condition. All of the doctors assured them he would grow to be just fine and on his first trip to go visit family he stopped breathing.

Parents are Sarah & Eddie.
